Our client a leading NSW Government Department have a position available for Senior Manager Commercial on an initial 6 month contract with  high potential for extension. The primary purpose of the role is to commercially manage an assigned contract package within the Project, ensuring the implementation of the commercial framework including the project contract management procedures and monitoring and reporting of performance against key performance indicators.

Key accountabilities:
  • Implement project contract management framework and dispute resolution requirements that comply with government guidelines, policies and align with industry best practice
  • Commercially manage and deliver projects as directed and participate in post implementation reviews to ensure benefits realisation and understand lessons to be learned
  • Provide specialist advice on commercial matters, claims and dispute resolution and in relation to contract negotiations, providing assurance relative to the consistency of project tender documentation and contribute to the evaluation of tenders
  • Provide leadership, direction, support, guidance and development advice to the Commercial Team staff members
  • Assist in the management of the activities of specialist advisors in regard to monitoring of process and performance outcomes for contract management
  • Ensure timely project reporting facilitates the effective management of risks and successful project delivery
  • Develop, implement and maintain all project variation and claims positions including the management of project insurance requirements and claims
In order to be eligible for this role you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in commercial management, finance, project management or relevant associated disciplines
  • Experience working across NSW government
  • Extensive experience in post contract award Commercial Management on major, complex infrastructure projects
