A high-profile Financial Services client are looking for a Custody Relationship Manager to join their Finance & Fund Services division on a 7-month contract, (possibility of an extension)

As a Custody Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the governance of Custodians, Prime Brokers and the oversight of other custodial related vendors, such as tax agents etc.

Your responsibilities

 
Business Processes:
  • Management of various custodial related suppliers/vendors such as data vendors, bank, market specific tax agents, class actions & tax reclaim agent etc. to ensure that the provision of services is delivered to assist processing and value to the business in cost management.
  • Annual Due diligence and Governance on all the custodians and custodial related vendors. Reviewing their Audit reports and identifying process exceptions and controls designed to avoid recurrence.
  • Leading monthly, quarterly and annual obligations for Tier 0 and Tier 1 suppliers in compliance with the Company's Supplier Lifecycle Procedure - Minimum Supplier Governance Obligations.
  • Conduct Regular Meetings with custodial related vendors on monthly and quarterly basis to discuss any changes, projects and outstanding issues on either side.
  • Organize Custodian / custodial related vendor reviews with internal teams on a weekly basis to identify any issues that need to be escalated.
  • Responsible for analyzing ongoing Australian regulatory requirement in terms outsourcing providers such as Custodians & compliance of Australian regulatory requirements such as RG133, OTC (Derivative) reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining database of custodian and custodial related vendor documents, agreements and audit Reports.
  • Responsible for managing and communicating market update notifications from custodians to Investment Managers and Internal teams.
  • Arrange system access with custodians / Vendors and manage any access related escalations.
  • Monitor Counterparty Risk for Company's Service providers.
Customer Service:
  • Identifying and meeting customer expectations in regards to responsiveness and delivering quality outcomes.
People Engagement:
  • Communicate pro-actively with stakeholder teams regarding status of queries.
  • Engage stakeholder teams to identify ways in which service might be improved.
Your capability and experience 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience within custody, fund manager and/or investment administration service provider.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in an oversight and governance team with direct relationship management experience.
  • Strong customers focus with a proven ability to ensure services support the needs of all stakeholders.
  • The ability to organize, prioritize and manage time to meet market and customer deadlines. The ability to understand and solve complex problems.
  • Understanding of Australian regulatory requirement from outsourcing perspective
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance preferred.
