Internal Audit Manager – Leading Insurance Group | 2IC to CAE

We are currently partnering with a household-name, Insurance Group to appoint a dynamic and experienced Snr Internal Audit Manager. This newly created opportunity arises from an internal restructure and represents a strategic 2IC position to the Chief Audit Executive (CAE).

As the Snr Internal Audit Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the development and execution of the integrated audit plan (including Internal Operational and IT audits). You’ll lead and mentor a collaborative team of auditors in a forward-thinking, high-performing, and culturally diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and execution of internal audits, including ITGC and integrated audits.
Oversee audit fieldwork, review working papers, and ensure timely completion of audits.
Deliver clear and actionable audit findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior leadership.
Ensure robust internal control compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Utilize data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness and identify risk patterns.
Act as a trusted deputy to the CAE, stepping in during their absence.

Skills & Experience Required:

Fully or part-qualified CA / ACCA / CPA / CIA / CISA, or relevant tertiary qualification with at least 6 years' experience in Internal or External Audit.
Solid experience in Financial Services, ideally in Insurance, Banking, Credit, Wealth Management, or Superannuation.
Exposure to, or strong interest in, IT Audit and integrated audit methodologies is highly desirable.
Proven ability to work within fast-paced and agile environments.
Strong stakeholder engagement, critical thinking, and data interpretation skills.
Ability to extract data from legacy systems and identify key business risks.
