This position is a Windows Systems Engineer, working across all aspects of remote server infrastructure, including Windows 2016/2019 server, Hyper-V Virtualization, DHCP, RADIUS along with several File and Printing solutions.
 
It is a technical role, jointly responsible for the successful development and implementation of scaled enterprise computer solutions, such as remote server OSD deployments, automated Dell OME and iDRAC management and the migration of local solutions to cloud-based services.
 
The position is also a 3rd level BAU escalation point and requires the technical flexibility to troubleshoot complex cases and provide sound technical advice for the successful resolution of those issues. Experience in Dell servers, SCCM, iDRAC, DHCP and remote management of file servers would be a clear advantage.
 
The candidate best suited for this role, is someone interested in working in a large scaled complex environment. A person with an enthusiastic and motivated approach to the workplace, while striving to deliver a quality product without close supervision. The candidate should be able to work within a strong dynamic team or on their own demonstrating accountability to the role. Someone to take ownership of an issue and see it through to a successful resolution.
 
 
Skills and Technical Experience
  • Minimum 5 years technical experience with Microsoft Server technologies within a medium to large environment.
  • Proven experience in layered server imaging and policy deployment using System Centre Configuration Manager.
  • Strong proven experience in Windows scripting automation using PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated experience in migrating local solutions to cloud-based services.
  • Strong working knowledge supporting VLAN environments and remote server management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with iDRAC, OME, OMSA and other Dell server utilities.
  • Proven experience with Windows HyperV and management of virtual servers.
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting complex technical issues and articulating those outcomes to peers and senior staff.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of ITIL Change, problem and Incident management frameworks.
  • Ability to take guidance and direction without close supervision.
