About the role
The Product Owner will act as the strategic and day-to-day product lead for the Patient Management System, ensuring the platform evolves to meet business, clinical, and consumer needs. They will define the product vision, manage the backlog, and drive prioritised delivery of features and improvements that support operational excellence and patient outcomes.
 
What's Required
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Product Owner at the intersection of business, clinical and technical teams, translating user needs and organisational strategy into actionable development plans.  In addition they will have the following:
  • Tertiary degree in Health Informatics, Business, Product Management, or a related field; formal training in Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a product owner or product manager role, ideally in healthcare or clinical software environments.
  • Strong understanding of patient management systems, clinical workflows, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a product backlog, translate needs into user stories, and prioritise based on value and complexity.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams and understand solution trade-offs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a user-first mindset and the ability to manage conflicting stakeholder needs.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, agile environments with competing priorities.
  • Data-driven and outcome-focused, with experience in defining and tracking product KPIs.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Understanding of API and integration principles (especially HL7, FHIR)
  • Familiarity with healthcare digital products and user-centred design
  • Analytical skills for interpreting user behaviour and system usage trends
  • Competence in prototyping and wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Miro - optional but valued)
