A Government Agency is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to support critical regulatory operations by strengthening our risk management and business continuity frameworks. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the safety and quality of early childhood education services across NSW.

About the Role

The Senior Risk Analyst plays a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while ensuring the organisation is prepared to respond to disruptions through effective business continuity planning. You will work closely with teams across the organisation, offering expert advice, maintaining risk registers, preparing reports for leadership, and supporting risk-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert advice on risk management to guide the development and implementation of risk frameworks and policies
  • Facilitate strategic and operational risk assessments across all areas of the agency
  • Maintain the Strategic Risk Register and ensure consistency across directorate-level registers
  • Draft high-quality reports and recommendations for executive leadership and governance committees
  • Lead business continuity planning projects including research, implementation, and evaluations
  • Monitor emerging risks and integrate findings from strategic planning processes into risk management practices
  • Engage and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated risk approach
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing policies and procedures in line with best practices and legislative updates
Key Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management and business continuity planning within a complex organisation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across a multidisciplinary team
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance standards, and risk frameworks
  • NSW public sector experience is desirable but not essential
