  • 6–12 month contract
  • Major Organisation within the Rail Industry
    Location: Burwood (Hybrid)
About the Organisation
Our client is a leading organisation within the rail industry, focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient rail services that keep people and goods moving across NSW. The organisation is committed to sustainable, customer-centred transport solutions supported by technical excellence and continuous improvement.

About You

You’re a technically skilled and analytical engineering professional with a strong background in maintenance strategy, reliability engineering, and data analysis. You’re comfortable working across complex operational environments and translating technical insights into actionable maintenance solutions.

About the Role

  • An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Engineering Analyst to join the Technical Maintenance Plans (TMP) team on a long-term contract.
  • In this role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing Technical Maintenance Plans for rail assets to ensure safety, reliability, and performance objectives are met. You’ll manage and update Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) databases, providing an auditable foundation for maintenance decisions and enabling risk-based maintenance strategies across the network.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate workshops with multidisciplinary teams to review, validate, and improve Maintenance Requirement Analyses (including FMECA/RCM/PMO) and Technical Maintenance Plans.
  • Conduct quality assessments of maintenance effectiveness and investigate performance trends, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance asset reliability and safety.
  • Maintain accurate databases and technical records to support ongoing maintenance planning and lifecycle management.
  • Prepare detailed reports, performance analyses, and communication materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to design reviews, specification development, and validation trials to ensure maintainability and operational readiness.
Key Challenges
  • Keeping up to date with emerging maintenance technologies, government policy, and compliance requirements.
  • Managing multiple projects and risks to deliver timely and effective technical outcomes.
  • Embedding maintenance improvements across diverse technical teams with competing priorities.
Essential Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (eligible for Graduate Membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent).
  • Practical experience in maintenance of rail infrastructure, fleet, or other complex operational systems (signalling experience highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated experience in Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodologies.

If you bring strong technical, analytical, and risk-based maintenance experience within the rail or heavy engineering environment, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now  and you will be contacted for a confidential discussion if your profile is a match to this role.
