  • Hours: Up to 38 hours per week
  • Rate: Up to $1,150 per day including super

I am looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a major enterprise data transformation program, with a strong focus on planning, scoping and preparing an investable delivery roadmap for large-scale data migration and legacy system decommissioning.
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role suited to a senior delivery professional who is comfortable operating without a team, owning all planning, governance, documentation and executive-facing materials.

The Role
  • The initial phase of this role will focus heavily on front-end planning and business case development, including defining scope, assessing the scale of data migration required, and determining realistic delivery timelines.
  • A major component of the program involves on-premise to cloud migration and system decommissioning, with physical decommissioning activities scheduled for 2027. Between now and then, the role will lead all preparatory work, including assessment, scoping, sizing and delivery planning.
  • As the program progresses, the role will move into ongoing project governance across the technology workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scoping
  • Lead detailed scoping and discovery activities across data and technology initiatives
  • Define migration approach, sequencing and effort required for complex data environments
  • Develop clear, investable delivery plans and business cases
  • Data Migration & Decommissioning
  • Plan and manage large-scale on-premise to cloud data migration activities
  • Lead preparation for legacy system decommissioning, including dependency mapping and impact analysis
  • Support the rationalisation and clean-up of legacy platforms and processes
Governance & Delivery Oversight
  • Establish and maintain project governance, plans, schedules and documentation
  • Track progress against milestones and manage risks, issues and dependencies
  • Provide clear, concise reporting to senior stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to align on scope, priorities and delivery approach
  • Translate complex technical concepts into language suitable for non-technical executives
  • Support senior leaders (including GMs) by preparing briefing materials and presentations
Personal Attributes
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident presenting to senior, non-technical audiences
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and hands-on
  • Comfortable operating as a sole Project Manager with no direct reports
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data migration and system decommissioning initiatives
  • Strong background in on-premise to cloud transformation, ideally within Azure environments
  • Experience with Databricks and/or modern data warehousing concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to enable capability on new data platforms
  • Experience working with complex, interconnected legacy systems
  • Background in large enterprises such as:
o Financial services (beneficial but not essential)
o Government
o Telco or similarly complex environments
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term about delivery feasibility and sequencing
