Our client, a leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Media Liaison Officer to their team on an initial 3 month contract with potential for extension.

Primary purpose of the role
To develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure high quality and timely responses are provided to the Minister’s Office. Key functions include: building capability to ensure the Portfolio has good understanding of each Minister’s Office needs and expectations; reviewing and coordinating responses to time sensitive, confidential and complex issues in a busy, high volume environment.

Key accountabilities
  • Identify key issues and develop training or other support to build capacity in branches and other organisations;
  • Monitor and maintain quality assurance measures and protocols to ensure high standards of content and processes are achieved in high stakes environment characterised by demanding deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Review, analyse, coordinate and prepare or ensure high quality documents for Ministers and the Secretary on a range of matters that may be sensitive and of interest to the community.
  • Build and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with relevant staff in the Ministry, local health districts and other organisations
  • Work with the key branch and other organisation executives and staff, identify and develop potential improvements to processes, templates and information systems.
  • Provide a strong customer service focus with key stakeholders and develop and provide training and other assistance to branches and other Health organisation staff to enable high quality responses and compliance with required processes and templates and records’ management protocols.
In order to be eligible for this role you will have
  • Experience in a similar role in NSW Government
  • Communications Background is necessary
  • Plain English Writing Skills Required
