We are working with a Leading Software Employer of Choice to secure an experienced Kafka Engineer with to you join a world class Product team

  • $$: Salary dependent on experience
  • Location: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane for Hybrid set up – no mandated office days, but you will have access to some of the best offices in Australia from these locations

Your role:

You will be joining as a Senior Kafka Engineer.
This means aside from bringing strong technical expertise (hands on coding) in this space, you will work to understand, teach and contribute to the organisations technical best practices. You'll think critically about the frameworks, libraries, tools and directions the team take. The ability to plan out a larger system, analysis and assumptions, suggesting technologies and justifying those decisions. And you’ll have a solution design mindset, understanding the why, thinking about larger scale implications as the product grows and evolves.
You will also come with and utilise your experience coaching junior developers.

About you – your experience will see you bring experience:
  • Building & operating pipelines with Kafka Source and Sink Connectors in a clustered architecture.
  • Building & operating fault tolerant Kafka Stream apps for data enrichment and aggregations.
  • With designing & building for end-to-end high performance and resilient event driven systems
  • Preferred: Data Modelling for event payloads using the transactional outbox pattern
  • Preferred: C# experience
  • Preferred: AWS ECS, Kubernetes and/or infrastructure architectures for distributed data processing applications
  • Preferred: CloudFormation, or CDK, or Terraform to build AWS cloud microservices.
