Position Summary
This position is a Windows System Administrator, working across all aspects of the server infrastructure environment. It is a technical role responsible for solution implementation, environment health and remote server management. Having strong skills in troubleshooting complex issues, the ability to provide sound technical advice for issue resolution and being technically flexible across the stack is a vital part of the role. The role is also a technical escalation point and should be able to provide advice and instruction to service desk staff to see incidents through to their resolution.

The candidate best suited for this role, is someone interested in working in a large scaled complex environment. A person with an enthusiastic and motivated approach to the workplace, while striving to deliver a quality product without close supervision. The candidate should be able to work within a strong dynamic team or on their own demonstrating accountability to the role. Someone to take ownership of an issue and see it through to a successful resolution.

Required Technical Experience

Important:

  • Minimum 5 years technical experience with Windows Servers

  • Demonstrated experience working with iDRAC, OME, OMSA and other Dell server utilities

  • Strong working knowledge supporting Server 2016/2019, File, Printing, DHCP services

  • Strong proven experience in scripting for server administration using PowerShell

  • Previous working experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and concepts

  • Strong working knowledge of networking and VLAN configuration

  • Proven experience in the implementation of technical scaled solutions

  • Proven experience with Hyper-V and management of virtual machines

  • Ability to take guidance and direction without close supervision

  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and clearly articulating complex technical issues to peers and senior staff

  • Clear understanding of ITIL Change, Problem, and Incident Management frameworks

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.


Desired:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and toolsets such as Jira

  • Experience working with ITSM tools such as Remedy

  • Experience working with configuration management toolsets

  • An interest in building automation and fixing problems at their source with scripting
