Third-Party Risk Management Specialist
Location: Sydney, NSW (Hybrid working available)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
$145K plus bonus

We have been exclusively engaged by a leading financial services organisation to recruit a Third-Party Risk Management Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company committed to strengthening its operational resilience and governance of service providers.

In this role, you’ll support business owners across the organisation in managing the full lifecycle of third-party risk—from onboarding and due diligence through to ongoing monitoring and disengagement. Your work will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management expectations while promoting effective governance and operational performance of third-party and material service provider relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the third-party risk management lifecycle, including risk assessments, onboarding, due diligence, implementation, performance monitoring, and contract exit.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct risk assessments on service providers, ensuring alignment with risk, compliance, and security standards.
  • Maintain the governance framework for third-party risk management including policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Identify and manage concentration risks and operational dependencies within third- and fourth-party arrangements.
  • Provide oversight and governance for service provider relationships, ensuring contractual compliance and effective risk management.
  • Develop and deliver reporting for senior management and governance committees on provider performance and associated risks.
  • Assign risk ratings to third-party providers based on their potential impact to the organisation and implement appropriate controls.
  • Record and manage contract details in the contracts register and flag material service providers where required.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions for business units and senior leadership on obligations and best practices in third-party risk management.
  • Ensure integration of risk frameworks into relevant systems and tools, and oversee the integrity of compliance and data management activities.
About You:
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in third-party risk management, preferably within a regulated financial services environment. You’ll bring a strong understanding of operational risk, governance frameworks, and supplier management practices. You’ll be comfortable working cross-functionally with procurement, legal, risk, and senior business stakeholders, and bring a pragmatic and structured approach to uplift capability and maturity in third-party oversight.

Why Apply?

  • Work with a respected financial services leader in a role critical to organisational resilience.
  • Be part of a collaborative and values-led team culture with strong executive support for risk and governance.
  • Join at a time of meaningful change and investment in third-party management practices.
  • Enjoy flexible working options and ongoing professional development opportunities.
