We are looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join one of our financial services clients on an initial 6 month contract.
This is a role where you can make a difference in the lives of our customers by providing them with the best experience they deserve. This role will be the primary point of contact within the Digital Delivery technology portfolio for any issues/bugs/requests/enhancements etc. Liaising with multiple business and technology stakeholders, understanding their requirements, troubleshooting the incoming issues and preparing backlog for the developers.
 
Capabilities required
  • Experience in developing software solutions for financial applications within the Investment Management industry
  • Proficient in the following technologies (Java, Node or Angular, SQL Server 2012 or higher, XML, HTML, Jscript,)
  • Prior experience work with code versioning tools (GIT, Jenkins)
  • Experience in API programming
  • Experience implementing automation testing platforms and unit tests
  • Stakeholder management skills, ability to communicate clearly with both business and technical teams and be able to present to senior stakeholders
  • Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Familiarity with Windows presentation and services frameworks
  • Experience using JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience across the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar Developer role
  • Work with the Engineering Platform Support Manager(s) and broader Platform Technology Team to plan and deliver change
  • L3 Web application Support with ITIL background
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and delegates to understand and clarify business objectives
  • Support the development of business cases by producing estimates
  • Work with peers at all stages of the SDLC to deliver high quality, fit for purpose technology solutions: - Design solutions (considering functional and non-functional aspects)
  • Produce and maintain relevant technical artefacts
  • Build and unit test solutions
  • Investigate and resolve defects
  • Support implementation planning activities
  • Collaborate with the testing team to ensure both functional and non-functional areas are considered and tested through the QA process
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with both clients and team members
  • Good understanding of digital technologies & analytics
