A well-regarded financial services organisation is looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in firewalls (Checkpoint, Fortinet, or Juniper SRX) and load balancing technologies (F5) to join their team in a permanent role.

We're partnering with a leading financial services organisation that is expanding their Network Security Design team and seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to play a key role in shaping the architecture and delivery of secure, resilient network solutions.

In this permanent opportunity, you’ll join a high-performing, fast-paced team responsible for designing complex network security solutions across a broad portfolio of business-critical projects. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and propose secure networking solutions.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure network infrastructure and contribute to strategic roadmaps and solution patterns.
  • Document technical designs, create blueprints, and provide ongoing support during deployment.
  • Provide expertise across both project and operational contexts, including implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Design network security solutions, patterns, and blueprints to support a range of project initiatives and business requirements
  • Evaluate and recommend firewall, load balancing, and other security-focused technologies.
  • Ensure designs support best practices around performance, availability, and security.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or industry/Vendor certifications 
  • Proven experience in network security engineering and solution design in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven expertise in designing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting complex network security solutions, with advanced hands-on experience across enterprise firewalls (Checkpoint, Juniper SRX, or Fortinet)and F5 load balancers, including LTM, GTM, APM, and ASMmodules.
  • Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with network automation using Pythonscripts and/or using Ansible.
  • Proven experience in both project-based and operational network support roles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Confident and professional presentation skills
  • Demonstrated mentoring and knowledge-sharing capabilities
  • Experience leading the technical delivery of network projects from design through to implementation
