Our client, a highly respected and globally recognised insurer, is seeking a talented Risk Manager to join its Line 2 Risk function. This is a pivotal opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, customer focus, and integrity.

The Opportunity

As a Risk Manager, you will play a key role in providing independent and strategic risk oversight across the organisation’s intermediated insurance business. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll deliver risk insights that influence commercial decision-making, strengthen governance, and enhance operational resilience.
You’ll bring a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes, identify emerging and material risks, and assess the adequacy of internal controls. Your ability to connect the dots across complex functions will support the development of practical, risk-informed solutions that drive sustainable performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent risk assessments and provide robust oversight of operational processes and controls.
  • Deliver high-quality risk advice and insights to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making and business strategy.
  • Identify areas of elevated risk and provide clear, actionable recommendations to enhance control effectiveness.
  • Partner with business units to strengthen risk culture and embed effective governance practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk frameworks, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide standards.
About You
You will be an accomplished risk, assurance, or audit professional, ideally with experience in insurance or financial services, and a strong grasp of process-level risk management. You bring intellectual curiosity, commercial acumen, and the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in risk, assurance, or internal audit, with an ability to assess operational controls and translate findings into clear insights.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build trust across the business.
  • An enterprise-wide mindset, with the ability to see beyond functional boundaries.
  • Sound understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and core governance principles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or a related discipline.
