We have a newly created opportunity for an experienced leader to join one of the country's leading Digital Delivery Teams based within the Financial Services sector. 
The role will involve working closely with the Head of Technology and the Platform Owners of the business across multiple streams whilst leading a team of Senior full stack engineers. You will work closely with the business and its stakeholders whilst driving and uplifting the engineering team to its full potential.  

Other key responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Support the members of your team deliver the best outcomes for the business. 
  • To help drive the development of best practices including microservices, development, reusability and DevOps automation 
  • Ensure designs comply with standards and guidelines, advise on functional issues and mentor developers as they work through designing, coding and testing solutions 
  • Although a hands-off role, a background in development and leading engineering teams is deemed necessary for the role. Tools and technology currently used (but not limited to) include, Java, NodeJS, Angular, AWS, MongoDB, a range of cloud platforms and DevOps tools. 

Skills Required: 
  • Demonstrated team leadership and coaching/mentoring experience 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Experience in driving the engineering uplift and scaling out best practices 
  • Experience designing and developing cloud native ideally AWS (EKS, Lambda), API-based architectures and responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks 
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Docker/Kubernetes) 
  • Experience working with technologies such as of Node.js, MongoDB, Java, JavaScript 
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
