We are looking for a Microsoft Azure Engineer to join an organisation within the financial services. The team you will be joining will be responsible for delivering seamless employee and client services experiences by constantly thinking about and evolving new ways of working.
 
The role involves providing technical expertise and being responsible for delivering a productive, efficient and secure end user experience. Accordingly, the Engineering team you will be joining is expected to maintain an advanced understanding of the current state and potential of workplace technologies including an understanding of Azure capabilities for enhancing and automating both the end user experience and operations. This specific role is expected to implement, manage and improve the development processes within the team with a view of moving to a DevOps methodology / release model.

Finally, this role will also be expected to broadly understand the Azure features and platform functionality and recommend low-code / no-code solutions where possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to business value principles, architecture principles, target blueprints, domain architectures and group policies
  • Challenge current practices and processes with an ambition to drive principles such as radical simplification
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Azure functional capabilities available to developers, and an understanding of the broader Microsoft Cloud ecosystem
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve service automation, solution stability, security and governance
  • Champion and advocate continuous improvement and DevOps behaviours and processes, reducing deployment cycle lengths while maintaining platform stability and adhering to Change Management processes
  • Define specific technical patterns, policies, frameworks and processes for the Team development capabilities

Skills required:
  • Good Experience demonstrating a high level of development skill and development tool experience
  • Excellent experience working on MS Azure
  • The ability to work on a wide range of technology and platforms
  • Excellent experience building and developing solutions in a DevOps environment
  • A passion for technology, data and all the above
  • Experience with Azure Automation and Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication skills
