A high-profile enterprise organisation is looking to engage a Senior IT Security / Windows Engineer, on a long-term contract, to work within a cyber uplift program, with a focus on being the technical SME on a data access governance project that is looking to secure an Active Directory and Windows operating environment.

You will join a cyber security project team that provide specialist consulting and advice to deliver services or projects, such as security operations, intelligence and response, advisory, risk and assurance.

This particular role will see you work on and support a Data Access Governance project (securing access to various shared drives and sources). We need a Technical SME (Windows Engineer / Security Engineer) to assist in the execution of the strategy to secure access to these data sources, working alongside the Solution Architect and the BA's and PM. You will also help with technical change and release management process of the new solution.

Your role will involve engagement with internal and external experts and stakeholders to research and continuously improve the cyber defence services, as well as deliver and enhance tools and processes to promote best practice amongst other cyber and risk teams across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, we're looking for a Senior Security or Windows Engineer with the following skills / experience:
  • 5+ years in a security engineer or windows infrastructure engineer focused role, ideally working within a large complex environment where you've been responsible for the delivery of cyber defence, security or risk services.
  • Experience working with Active Directory and Windows operating systems, as well as NetApps is ideal.
  • Experience securing a file sharing application / system (NTFS) is highly desirable.
  • PowerShell scripting experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience with ServiceNow in terms of release management.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security principles and practices.
  • Experience in completing security risk assessments on internal applications and external services.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in complex and diverse technology environments.
  • You keep up-to-date with industry trends and issues in security and risk management.
  • Strong focus on the customer and business needs.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
