Risk Manager - Risk-in-change - Delivery Risk - Delivered Risk

• Hybrid working arrangement | Full time
• Provide first line risk support for major program initiatives
• $160K Package

We are partnering exclusively with a well-regarded insurance organisation to recruit a Risk Manager  -within their Consumer Performance, Risk and Executive Office. This role sits in the first line of defence, working closely with project delivery teams and risk partners to support safe, effective execution of complex change initiatives and major programs and projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated risk professional to combine deep risk expertise with hands-on support and advisory work, helping uplift risk capability and contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing risk culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical project risk advice to delivery teams, ensuring delivery and delivered risk assessments are conducted in line with governance standards and frameworks.
  • Create and manage procedural documentation to clarify risk expectations and requirements.
  • Deliver risk training to delivery teams and risk stakeholders, supporting capability uplift.
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues that could impact delivery, customer experience or compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with business risk partners and enterprise risk teams to ensure risk practices remain fit-for-purpose and consistent across the business.
  • Actively share insights across the wider risk community to foster learning and continuous improvement.
  • Support the execution of the three lines of defence model by championing risk awareness and accountability in the first line.
About You:
  • Minimum two years’ experience in risk, compliance, audit with experience advising projects oir programs.
  • At least five years’ experience within general insurance or a related industry.
  • Strong ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, supported by clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • This is NOT A Project Manager, Program Manager or Business Analyst position, it is a Risk Management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and capability building.
  • Proven experience in risk management and the ability to apply it within project delivery.
  • Comfortable balancing business objectives with risk requirements to deliver practical, commercially sound outcomes.
  • Adaptable, customer-focused and responsive to change, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, law or a related field (desired).
  • Please DO NOT Apply if you do not have Risk Management experience or if you only have Project Delivery experience.
