Our client a Leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Performance Analyst to join their team on a  contract up to 12 months.
The Performance Analyst delivers high quality assessment data analysis to support the functions of the Business Performance and Reporting team in the monitoring and reporting of assessment of State Significant Development proposals in NSW.

Key accountabilities
• Deliver meaningful and actionable business performance analytics that inform and influence the client around executive decision making around assessment practice and performance.
• Work with assessment teams to develop continual improvement and practice conformance tools and processes.
• Facilitate the provision of a range of reports using available reporting tools in addition to the development of new reporting templates to meet business requirements and to enable efficient utilisation of system capabilities
• Work with data owners and service providers to resolve any reporting issues, ensuring system integrity and availability
• Build and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to evaluate improvements and share feedback
• Collaborate with assessments and business practice teams across the Division to establish processes and frameworks that strengthen the quality and availability of the Department’s assessment information.
• Participate in project based work beyond the analyst role and other duties as directed.

Key challenges
• Managing complex and diverse program requirements in an environment characterised by competing priorities, tight deadlines and legislative frameworks
• Addressing entrenched data quality issues, that have their origins in current business processes and practices, so that data quality, once addressed, continues to improve (and is not a ‘one off’).
• Identifying and working with a diverse range of stakeholders across portfolios and fostering strong linkages with Department’s assessment and business systems streams.

Essential requirements
• Degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or other relevant discipline
• Demonstrable expertise in application of relevant approaches and techniques for evaluation, internal audit, research, analytics, forecasting and statistical analysis
