The Organisation:

A thriving foreign bank in Australia is looking for a self motivated clearing officer with 3 years of working experience in the Banking & Financial Services sector. Reporting to the Clearing Manager and being part of the financial market operation team; your role will see you as a responsible member of the team to support the clearing function of back-office support.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor, process/prepare local and international wire transfers (SWIFT and Non-SWIFT) in accordance with procedures, follow up with customers for phone confirmation, ensure that all payments are completed within cut-offs.
  • Report, investigate and follow up on payment discrepancies and exceptions, report and escalate any breaches of regulations to managers and Compliance.
  • Ensure all daily GL reconciliation and internal and external reporting are completed on time.
  • Perform checks to ensure that all end of day transaction reconciliation/checks completed.
  • Provide high-level customer service with internal and external corporate clients, other market participants and internal stakeholders in order to settle transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare daily IFTI reports.
  • Improve business processes.
  • Be actively involved and undertake project work as required, including system upgrades and related testing etc.

Skills
  • Has 3+ years of experience in a clearing / settlement / operations role, with strong knowledge of SWIFT and IFTI reporting procedure.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Be proactive in proposing and providing processing solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Flexible for working extended hour if and when required.
