A client of ours are looking to bring onbaord a Network Security Engineer to be the bridge between the security engineering team and the networking team. This role would sit as part of a wider SecEng function and focused on the networking elements. Ultimately, they would like to end up with no network edge on the internet. There are multiple stages to get to that point! This role is really 100% project based at this stage, with elements of BAU as the work gets to that point.

Day to day responsibilities could include;
  • Driving discovery sessions
  • Auditing Tools and capabilities
  • Auditing Firewall rules
  • Looking at Enterprise networking architecture
  • Consulting with network engineering team & wider business from a security angle
  • Working on hardening cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
  • Understanding current state and future state, working on that roadmap
  • Wider security engineering work
This role would suit a mid Security Engineer who has been working with Firewalls, WAF, Cloud environments (AWS/GCP), and looking to work within a complex enterprise networks environment.
