The Role and the Organisation:

Our client is an iconic insurance provider whose protect public assets, infrastructure and construction projects. These newly created roles will conduct a range of Line 1 risk, compliance, controls and assurance activities in their designated portfolio.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of robust strategies to support the business in the identification and management of risks, quality and control.
  • Assist with the development of risk profiles and the responses and reporting to risk profiles as required.
  • Provide risk, compliance, control, incident management and quality assurance advice to the business including facilitation of assurance workshops, presentations, reporting and leadership of relevant governance forums.
  • Develop/support monthly schedule of planned, testing and reporting of controls, and develop action plans to address deficiencies in controls.
  • Oversee and maintain the quality and integrity of risk information in the business’ risk system.
  • Engage with and foster key internal relationships, including Risk & Governance and internal audit to facilitate reliance on / leverage of assurance activities as appropriate and to address any requirements the Board and the Committee.
  • Provide guidance and coaching in the delivery of the team’s key priorities and on-maturity uplift.
  • Understand and address any regulatory, compliance and privacy requirements related to assurance activities.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a risk advisory / controls assurance / audit role.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and embedding controls, strong conduct &/or quality assurance programs and strategies into the business.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence in presenting in risk & assurance workshops to get buy-in from the stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CA/CPA, CIA, CISA, CFA, FRM etc. are desirable.
  • Prior experience in Big4 professional services firms is highly advantageous.
