Our client, a leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Vendor Master Specialist to join their team until the end of Financial Year with high potential for an extension.

The Vendor Master Data Specialist is responsible for master data integrity and adherence to governance standards within the business. This role is primarily responsible for providing accurate and timely maintenance of Master Data; ensuring conformity to system standards and business rules and remediation of any gaps in the master data in preparation for implementation of a new payment gateway.

Key accountabilities:
• Responsible for Master Data integrity and adherence to governance standards.
• Ensure all master data records are complete and accurate without duplicates or conflicting information.
• Evaluate data change requests to ensure compliance with business data processes and data quality standards; resolve compliance issues with requestors and users of data.
• Prioritise data troubleshooting or reporting requests to help the business meet deadlines.
• Maintain Master Data Management procedures, forms and documentation (process diagrams, user guides, troubleshooting guides).
• Design and provide ad hoc system reporting and analysis to identify master data inaccuracies or updates needed because of changing business requirements.
• Support the daily activities of the project team within Finance and Procurement.
• Answer queries, collect feedback and provide advice to business partners, internal and external stakeholders on vendor management and master data maintenance matters, including improvement of policies and procedures.

Essential requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in a related field such as Finance and Procurement, accounting or systems.
• 1-3 years experience in one or more of the following business areas: Finance / Procurement, Information Technology, Data Administration.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills (passion for data and accuracy) proven ability to manage complex projects.
• Demonstrates skill in data analysis by resolving / missing / incomplete information, inconsistencies / anomalies in routine data.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed
• Advanced to expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
