About the role:
 
Working with 6 tax professionals and reporting into the Head of Tax, this Tax Executive role is a 12-month parental leave cover and can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
 
Working for a leading insurer you will showcase your expertise to advise on, develop and implement corporate tax policy and participation in planning activities, predominately from an income tax perspective. You will work alongside senior stakeholders to manage tax costs, tax risks and compliance. You will communicate taxation developments to all stakeholder levels including the Executive leadership team and Board. Staying abreast of the market you will liaise with external revenue authorities and manage all taxation reviews, audits and disputes.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
As part of a team of professionals you will use your proven leadership to ensure tax reporting, compliance, tax governance and planning as you manage outcomes for all cross-border transactions. You will provide advice for M&A activities including any restructuring, divestments etc to maximise investment returns within a robust tax risk management framework.

 
Required skills and experience:
 
  • Advanced stakeholder influencing skills (up to Board level)
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Intellectual curiosity – demonstrated willingness to learn from others in order to bring ‘best of breed’ back into the organisation
  • Deep knowledge of the financial services industry preferred
