This is an opportunity to join Australia' leading Insurer as they completely transform Risk management within the company. The position sits within Group Risk and helps the organisation prepare for and deepen all facets of regulatory interaction regulators such as the ACCC and ASIC. You will be working with a wide variety of stakeholders, helping to gather the information required and build submissions for over 90 regulatory bodies. Role Responsibilities
Proactively co-ordinate and assist with the management of engagements and meetings with key federal and state based regulators and internal stakeholders, so that our business is responsive, well prepared and meets regulators’ expectations. This includes handling relevant enquiries, preparation for key meetings and other engagements.
Assist the Senior Specialists to research and monitor regulatory developments, and prepare briefing notes and updates on new and upcoming conduct regulations, including guidelines/ standards/legislation, and support the communication of these regulatory changes.
Support the Senior Specialist by attending internal meetings on regulatory matters.
Support the Senior Specialists to respond to regulatory consultations and submissions, coordinating feedback from internal stakeholders.
Support the Regulatory Engagement team with governance, controls and operational disciplines to ensure the business meets all of its regulatory commitments to relevant regulators.
Track correspondence and deadlines to ensure regulatory commitments are met.
Assist with the preparation and finalisation of executive briefings and papers and registers for the Board.
Foster a three lines of defence approach and champion the business benefits of positive regulatory engagement.
Role Requirements
4 years + in Financial Services or General Insurance in a large multi jurisdiction / international environment
Compliance, Legal or Regulatory Engagement background
Ability to speak with and engage stakeholders of various levels both internal and external
Excellent attention to detail
Able to keep abreast of regulatory change and operate with a degree of ambiguity
Experience working for a regulatory body would be ideal
High degree of written and spoken accuracy
