Senior Data Engineer with experience working in Azure environments required for initial 4 month contract, with a view to extend.

A public focused organisation is looking to build out their data engineering team due to a new pipeline of project work and is now looking to engage the services of an experienced Senior Data Engineer. As part of this large and important initiative, we are looking to engage an individual to utilise Azure Data Services to implement end-to-end data solutions.

You will focus on building and maintaining ETL / ELT processes using PySpark to ingest, cleanse, transform and load the data from various sources into Azure data platforms. You'll optimise data processing, develop deep understanding of data models and structures for storage, retrieval, and analysis in Azure environments.

To be successful in this role, we're looking for a strong blend of the following skills / experience:
  • Extensive experience working as a Data Engineer in an enterprise environment
  • Experience working with Azure Data Services, where you've implemented end-to-end solutions.
  • Experience building ETL / ELT processes using PySpark - this is a must have skill-set
  • Experience optimising data processing
  • Experience monitoring data pipelines, data quality and system performance.
  • You will have a creative mind-set and enjoy coming up with new ways and ideas to improve business processes.
  • Ability to work with a diverse mix of people who are always striving for excellence.
