Senior Cyber Security Advisor contract role to sit within a Cyber Advisory Practice responsible for consulting with business areas to define their respective information security related objectives and needs, and confirming the IT security related standards, processes and procedures.
As part of a major initiative to increase its cyber security capability, our client is going through a multi-million multi-year journey to uplift the way they manage and secure their assets and are now looking to hire additional resources to support ongoing projects and programs of work across the organisation.

The role will see you support these objectives by providing cyber security solution architecture leadership, specifically in the area of cyber security controls, along with the following:
  • Project Security Consulting - Provide security solution and design inputs for the implementation of new capabilities
  • IT Security Risk Assessments
  • Cloud and Vendor risk assessments
  • Provide general security advice aligned to security policy
  • Actively contribute to the development of security patterns
You'll also work with teams across IT and OT to ensure security-related standards, processes and procedures meet the desired levels and compliance obligations.

What we're looking for:
6+ years experience working in a similar role, acting as a Cyber Security Advisor / Security Solution Architect, ideally in a large, complex enterprise environment.
Experience creating designs for security solutions in a project / program environment.
Good understanding of the information security, risk management, governance, business continuity management and business resiliency issues and threats impacting a large and complex organisation.
Knowledge of and experience in applying security compliance, government policy and industry frameworks including at least some of the following:  SABSA, NIST, ISO 27001, ISO 27003, IEC 62443, NSW Cyber Security Policy or ASD ISM.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills and ability to work with stakeholders and vendors at all levels.
