Ethos BeathChapman is proud to partner with one of the world’s leading financial services companies.  As part of a high-performing Finance and Tax team, you’ll play a key role in guiding the business through an evolving tax landscape — driving compliance excellence, managing risk, and delivering strategic advice across the Australian business.

As the Senior Tax Manager, your key accountabilities will include:
  • Lead the delivery of all direct tax compliance and risk management requirements, ensuring end-to-end accuracy and governance.
  • Develop and execute direct tax strategies and initiatives in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Provide expert direct tax advice to the business, influencing commercial decision-making and optimising outcomes.
  • Support the General Manager Tax in delivering tax assurance services, risk frameworks, and best-practice compliance programs.
  • Partner with Finance colleagues on direct tax accounting matters, including tax effect accounting.
  • Review and guide team members on complex direct tax technical issues.
  • Monitor and anticipate changes in tax legislation and regulatory expectations, preparing the business for their impact.
  • Deliver insights and advice on emerging tax issues to help minimise risk and strengthen compliance.
  • Stay across industry trends and developments, ensuring the organisation remains well-positioned in a changing regulatory environment
Background and experience:
  • Significant experience in a large corporate tax function, ideally with experience working in a large complex ASX-listed environment.
  • Senior Manager/Director currently working in a Big 4 or large 2nd-tier corporate tax team, supporting large complex ASX/MNE clients will also be considered.
  • Deep technical expertise in direct tax, including income tax, transfer pricing, and reporting obligations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategy in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and regulators.
