A broad senior corporate tax role, ideally suited to an experienced tax professional who is seeking a diverse and challenging role.  With responsibility for all corporate tax reporting requirements across the group, you will ensure the timely delivery of tax information to regulatory bodies and group reporting, provide tax advice to business stakeholders and ensure that robust controls and procedures in place to support tax compliance across all entities operating in Australia and New Zealand.

Key deliverables for this role include:

  • Take the lead in the timely delivery of data for monthly and quarterly tax accounting entries.
  • Identify and proactively improve tax related processes and controls through risk recognition and mitigation.
  • Oversee the timely completion of all annual country-by-country tax returns.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key finance and non-finance stakeholders and become the 'go-to person' for all direct tax related matters.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to provide guidance and coaching in relation to tax laws, risk and compliance.
  • Work with Regulatory Authorities and Government Agencies: Supporting the development of responses to enquiries/requests for information and facilitate on-site reviews as required.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced tax professional with upwards of 5 years experience gained in either a Big 4 / 2nd tier tax firm, an 'in-house' corporate tax team or a combination of both.

  • Tertiary qualifications and certification as a CA/CPA.
  • 5+ years experience in a large commercial or chartered environment with a sound understanding of changes to relevant tax laws, industry trends and emerging technology.
  • Direct tax experience a must-have.  
  • Role ideally suited to a someone currently working at a Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager level in a Big 4 / 2nd tier tax firm.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making.
