Operational Functions:
  • Using your time, talent, and technologies to enable and empower your service delivery partners.  Identifying and building tools (self-service, automation) to help with continuous delivery, continuous development, and security based Devops (SecDevOps).
  • Manage the daily operations (Testing, Pre-Production & Production Platform Support, Critical Incident Mgmt., System Health Check & Monitoring, Change Mgmt., System Upgrades and Maintenance) of our on-premise and cloud-based platforms.
  • Drive, assist and contribute with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design, costing and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively maintaining ongoing dialogue and relationships with your Customers and Stakeholders as part of continued solution development and support.
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation including Standard Operating Procedures for platform management and processes;
  • Use Agile and Lean practices to drive our way of working and continuously improve to develop, build and maintain resilient and robust platforms to support our customers.
  • Drive automation and self-service;
  • Build the team’s capability though continuous knowledge sharing;
  • Provide support to assist in the resolution of incidents;
  • Identify and report operational risks to Delivery Manager;
  • Provide robust tools and platforms to support and advice to our customers;
  • Continuously improve the monitoring of the team’s platforms;
  • Highlight technology incident trends for root cause investigation;
  • Participate in platform maintenance and platform upgrades;
  • Perform on-call support duties as required;
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and availability plans;
  • Participate in disaster recovery test activities;
  • Takes ownership of self-development.
  • Ensure compliance to corporate and BT governance standards and escalate potential breaches to the Delivery Manager; and
  • Adhere to Change Management processes.
  • To maintain a high performing, highly available, and highly secure network security platform across internally hosted and externally hosted (cloud) environments. Effective delivery of operational and support services for the platform.  Enhancing and streamlining operational activities to reduce effort, minimise complexity, reduce instances of error, or saving money.
  • Current Industry Technical Qualifications highly desirable
  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology is desirable
  • At least 5 years hands-on IT Security experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of IT Security operations in a large organisation.
  • Experience in maintaining and/or supporting an enterprise Information Technology environment.
Essential Experience:
  • High level of technical skill and experience in managing the following products:
    • Firewalls/IPS - Palo Alto Networks
    • Load Balancing & App Firewall – F5
    • Proxy Services – Netskope
    • IPSEC B2B VPN – Cisco ASAF
    • Host Based Firewalls, IPS, AV, DLP – Trend, Crowdstrike, Airlock
  • Knowledge of the OSI layers and good troubleshooting skills up to an application level with a proven ability to analyse packet captures
  • Technical knowledge of enterprise level security platforms and processes
  • Knowledge of Scripting language - python would be highly desirable
  • Have knowledge of secure development practices and application deployment methodologies
  • Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of disciplines in change control, security, performance monitoring, on-going administration and documentation
  • Strong ability to interpret designs and strategies as it relates to platforms and understand how this impacts both Information Technology and the Business.
