Our client, a prominent player in Financial Services, is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Lawyer to join their Legal and Company Secretariat team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and services to the organisation, with a focus on key functional areas including consumer law, privacy, data, and intellectual property. Key Role Accountabilities:
Stay abreast of legislative/regulatory changes and market best practices in consumer law, consent, privacy/data/spam, and intellectual property.
Provide proactive legal advice, identifying potential issues that may impact strategy, operations, or business processes.
Collaborate with various teams to assess legal risks associated with marketing campaigns and develop creative solutions to mitigate those risks.
Infuse legal compliance into processes, working closely with relevant teams.
Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of marketing collateral, advertisements, and promotions to ensure legal compliance and accuracy.
Project manage legal aspects of new projects, leveraging internal resources and external service providers.
Experiences, Capabilities & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws or equivalent.
Qualified as a legal practitioner or admitted to an appropriate Australian professional body.
Over 7 years of legal practice experience.
Over 5 years of legal practice experience in consumer law, privacy/data, and intellectual property.
In-depth knowledge of market best practices in relevant legal reviews.
Strong legal skills, including advisory, contract drafting, and negotiation.
Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
Collaborative team player.
