Our client is a leading Australian Insurance group and employer of choice offering outstanding career progression, flexibility and work life balance.

They have an excellent opportunity for a senior financial analyst or finance business partner with an insurance background to join their product team. This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional to sit in a business unit and partner closely with EGM's and GM's providing decision support, commercial advice and value added insights around finance and operational metrics to assist them to manage the business unit profitably and efficiently. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will focus on:

  • High quality analysis and challenge of monthly and quarterly management reporting.
  • Delivery of innovative solutions to information and reporting needs raised by stakeholders.
  • Analysis of performance and operational drivers behind premiums, claims and expenses and assess the impact on the financial results.
  • Analysis of how changes in actuarial assumptions impact financial results and how these changes affect budget / forecast expectations.
  • Creation of operational and performance targets behind premiums, claims and expenses with communication and agreement with business leader
  • Delivery of tasks required for timely and quality delivery of budgets and forecasts to Finance and the business.

Required skills and experience:

  • Qualified CA/CPA/CIMA
  • Minimum 3 years post qualified experience in a management accounting, financial analysis, decision support or finance business partnering capacity. 
  • Deep knowledge of the insurance sector, industry trends, terminology and business drivers
  • Outstanding relationship building, stakeholder management and presentation skills
  • Strong financial system skills (TM1, Power BI)
