Join a Leading Chartered Firm at the Forefront of Public Sector Assurance

Are you a strategic thinker with deep internal audit or risk expertise and a passion for driving growth in the public sector? Our client, a top-tier professional services firm, is seeking an accomplished Internal Audit Partner to lead and expand its Government & Public Sector Assurance Practice.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to the internal audit function across Federal, State and Local government clients.
Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to grow the public sector audit portfolio.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across government bodies and public institutions.
Lead high-impact assurance, risk management, and advisory engagements aligned with public sector priorities.
Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing audit teams, ensuring a strong culture of integrity and service excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., advisory, digital, ESG) to deliver innovative, value-adding solutions to clients.
Represent the firm at industry events, public forums, and regulatory engagements.

Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience at Director or Partner level in internal audit or risk assurance, with significant exposure to the public sector.
Strong track record in business development, including identifying opportunities, writing proposals, and winning new work.
In-depth knowledge of Federal / State or Local government structures, public sector governance, and regulatory frameworks.
Professional qualification (e.g., CA / ACCA / CPA / CISA / CIA or other) and/or relevant postgraduate degree.
Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
Must be Australian Permanent Resident.
