Title: 2 X Finance Officer

One of Sydney's top 5 Universities are looking for 2 X Finance Officer to join their team on a 6 and 12 Month contract.

The Transaction Processing Officer processes transactional tasks and provides professional customer support. They actively participate in process improvements and maintain data integrity and governance adherence.

The Transaction Processing Officer works under general supervision, performing tasks as directed and in accordance with definedresponsibilities. They make choices between established methods of work and plan and prioritise their work to ensure deadlines are met.

They will resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and help resolve more complex matters.

Key accountabilities
  • Efficiently handle various transactional activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols, while contributing to process enhancements.
  • Provide professional customer support by addressing enquiries, offering guidance on designated related matters.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, escalating complex issues when necessary, and actively participating in process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage diverse administrative tasks, including documentation, reporting, and content management, to maintain data integrity and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards and policies, maintaining compliance across transactions, and actively engaging in process evaluation and enhancement efforts.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with a broad range of stakeholders, proactively addressing any concerns, and collaborating with team members to continuously improve stakeholder relations.
  • Coordinate with the team to produce quality reports, verify data accuracy within university systems, and actively engage in compliance initiatives to uphold regulations.
  • Lead by example in prioritising health and safety within daily operations, coordinate with peers for safety drills and training, and
  • proactively identify areas for safety improvement within the work scope.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Commerce, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience in using financial systems for processing financial transactions and reporting in a large-scale organisation
  • Customer service experience; with a demonstrable customer-focused ethic
  • Experience in using financial systems for processing and reporting – not necessarily in the University sector but preferably in large scale organisations
