A leading NSW Government Department is looking for a Financial Administration Officer| Project Support Officer  to join their team until October  2024, with high possibility of an extension.
Key accountabilities
 
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors and other AHO staff to develop and prepare preliminary site investigations, design development and approval phases of AHO projects.
  • Provide support to the senior project officers and management within the Strategy & Portfolio Development Team to create new vendors, raise purchase orders and collate and process invoices accurately using AHO financial systems and following AHO processes and policies within tight timeframes.
  • Prepare accurate reports on the financial status of activities within the team across all programs to ensure adequate reporting. Accurately complete and process payments to ensure delivery and projects’ milestones are successfully met.
  • Provide executive support, including coordinating appointments, meetings, travel (transport and accommodation), conferences and seminars to support the achievement of the team’s objectives.
  • Provide general administrative support in preparing a range of correspondence including letters, registers, reports to support the team’s activities and increased workload.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders including clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure all procurement in relation to the property portfolio adheres to departmental policy and guidelines and represents value for money for the deliverables.
  • Undertake and review research relating to the property industry, analysing and reviewing market trends and prepare advice for the team and management as directed to assist in making informed property acquisition decisions.
  • Order and circulate appropriate valuation reports, preliminary reports and property certificates for review by senior team members to ensure accuracy and to assist in making informed property redevelopment decisions.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Government or Public Sector Experience
  • Educational Background: Certificate III in Accounting or Business Administration. OR in Accounting or working towards.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably within government or the public sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong customer service and communication skills.
