Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of the NZT (Net Zero Transport) grant audit function by overseeing and coordinating the external auditor(s). The role ensures audits are completed in alignment with project goals—on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing the audit process, ensuring proper documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and resolving any issues that arise efficiently. The role also involves ensuring that all regulatory requirements and compliance standards are met throughout the audit process.

Role:

  • The role will manage the delivery of the NZT (Net Zero Transport)  grant audit function and manage the first batch of audits in 2025 which includes:
  • Overall project managing this work in alignment with the agreed outcomes to be on time, on budget, and to the expected quality standard, at scale.
  • Onboarding the outsourced auditor(s).
  • Planning and scheduling each batch of audits based on geographic considerations to maximise audit coverage and minimise unnecessary costs.
  • Project managing the pilot site visits with the auditor and establishing the processes, which will require travel across NSW for a short period of time.
  • Ensuring all required documentation for the audit is provided to the auditor, that all audit-related documents are completed and signed by the auditor and that they are appropriately stored in the DCCEEW documentation management system.
  • Ensuring the outsourced auditor manages regulated meetings with each NZT program lead to provide an oversight of progress, issues, risk updates, escalated issues.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues in an efficient and professional manner.

Essential Criteria:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Expertise in electrical checks and audits.
  • Experience in quality, compliance, or regulatory functions.
  • Strong background in project or program management.
  • Experience in managing or overseeing audits, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Government experience, preferably in managing compliance or regulatory functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and auditors.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage competing demands and priorities.
